It's strange how Champagne is associated to luxurious life. As a matter of fact, its taste is absolutely fabulous but it is not as expansive as it is supposed to be. You may find very good Champagne in France especially in our region "Aube" near Troyes for 10 or twelve euros (about 14 or 17 US dollars) a bottle !

Deslilas - thank you for your tip. If there are two things in my friedge at all times, it is champagne and caviar - but $10-17 may be high for some people to indulge in on a daily basis. Sad, but true.
COOK's that I used to swear by in the US was perfectly acceptable bubbly for half that price and you may enjoy it daily at that price.

Bottega does have a wonderful line....and yes, you do need a champagne budget to shop their collection.
